A meal journal and energy tracker in one
What it records
- The photo you chose, and the time you logged it.
- An estimated forecast for that meal, shown in about five seconds.
- Your check-in a couple of hours later: energy, digestive comfort, and heaviness.
- Any symptoms you tap — bloated, gassy, reflux, sleepy, hungry again.
- The goal you picked during onboarding, which decides which questions you see.
What a check-in looks like
A check-in takes about ten seconds: three sliders, then an optional row of symptom taps. There is no right answer and nothing is scored. The point is to capture how the meal landed while you still remember eating it.
- Energy — from drained to energized
- Digestive comfort — from uncomfortable to comfortable
- Heaviness — from light to very heavy
“Fiber-rich lunches are linked to steadier afternoons for you.”
That is the shape of a finished entry, not a promise about yours. Step by step, it is set out on how it works.
What it does not do
- No calorie counting. There are no calorie targets, macros, or portion scores.
- No food grades. Nothing you eat is rated good or bad, clean or dirty.
- No diet plan. It does not tell you what to eat, restrict anything, or run an elimination protocol.
- No diagnosis. Food to Mood is a general wellness journal, not a medical device, and it does not diagnose, treat, prevent, or manage any condition.
- No causation. It records an association between a meal and a later self-report. Sleep, stress, workload, caffeine, movement, and timing all sit in between, and the app cannot separate them.
An association is a weaker thing than a cause, and saying so is the point. A journal can show you what kept happening together. Deciding what to do about it is yours, and if something persists it belongs with a qualified professional rather than an app.
Private by design
An account is optional. Without one, the app generates a random identifier on your device. If you sign in, Clerk processes your email or Apple/Google details and our API sees an opaque account ID. Meal photos stay with the meal for as long as you keep it — deleting a meal removes its photo, and “Reset local data” erases the journal from your device and our API.
The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
Is it available yet?
Food to Mood is still in development. There is no App Store listing yet, no public beta, and no waitlist, which is why nothing on this site links to a download. This section will change when that does.
